"Enrichment gives and extra challenge to students who have mastered the subject matter or "build up" a new area of learning"

Enrichment Tutoring
When most people think of tutoring, they think of helping children improve their grades. However, approximately one-third of students who use tutors in elementary-high school have no difficulties academically. These students are being tutored for enrichment.
Enrichment gives an extra challenge to students who have mastered the subject matter and would like to move to a different level. Enrichment can also be to “build up” an area of learning that does not currently exist.
Below are some examples of enrichment.
- Learning Spanish to communicate with a neighbor or friend at school
- Taking an extra “layer” of chemistry after the classes in high school have been taking
- Learning how to build a portfolio of designs for art school or design school
- Advanced reading and/or writing programs that go in a different direction than traditional schools (ex. Reading and writing multiple types of poetry; Writing a graphic novel from scratch)
- Additional computer programming
- Logic problems that help students “think outside the box.”
- And more!
As you can see, the enrichment possibilities are endless and also creative. We can work with families who are interested in pursuing academic enrichment opportunities for their students.

Gifted Tutoring
"In this ever-changing world, there are many paths for children who are gifted."
The National Association for Gifted Children estimates that there are approximately 3 million academically gifted children in grades K-12 in the U.S - approximately 6% of the student population. Not all of these students are in the AIG/AG courses in schools. Many of them are.
In this ever-changing world, there are many paths for children who are gifted. Not all come in the form of individualized, one-on-one instruction. This is where Tutor Doctor can make a difference in the life of your gifted student. We challenge the gifted student beyond what the classrooms or gifted programs do with our private, individualized, expert tutors, matched to your child's personality and ready to enhance your child's knowledge base.
Many gifted children are looking for truly interesting and difficult problems and situations in their learning. Tutor Doctor’s tutors can bring those tasks to the forefront and engage the gifted student in the areas of strength, making them stronger.
At Tutor Doctor, we also talk with the student, asking him or her which direction the learning should take and where they would like to go. Imagine your child designing a space station or solving higher level math while being engaged and excited at the prospect of the next direction he or she can take. It is exciting to think Gifted-Tutor-Raleigh-Apex-Caryabout what our tutors can do for your family.
Call today and ask for Tim. He is ready to talk about how we can work together. We look forward to taking your student “to the next level.”
