Why tutor organization and study skills?
At Tutor Doctor we believe that all students can excel in school. Too often, however, we present students with significant amounts of educational content without ever really teaching them “how to learn”.
This is the foundation for why we teach study and organizational skills as a part of our tutoring program. Upon completion of the tutoring, students will be able to establish their priorities and create a strategy to achieve their goals as efficiently as possible. They will spend less time studying and still see their grades improve.

How we teach the content:
We begin by making goals with the student and working on teaching organizational and study skills white moving away from some flaws in the student's current organization system. We then find that students are more successful when we weave this process into the projects and homework the student has. Although this is not tutoring in the subject specifically, it is talking about how to manage the assignments, both long term and nightly. This provides students with “hands on” experience in implementing the strategies that we teach. Students and their parents receive the added bonus of learning the skills so that all family members can be on the same page of success.
In the long run our goal is to create successful independent learners that can succeed in the careers in the years to come! It is never too late to prepare for a future life.
